Family Vacation

Last week we enjoyed another vacation with my whole family at Stony Lake. We have rented the same cottage there for 3 years now, and have so many wonderful memories of the time we've spent there. We had beautiful weather so we got to spend lots of time out on the water. The girls absolutely loved all the extra attention from grandpa and grandma and their uncles and aunties. My mom and sisters and I love to play games and enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table each night to do just that, just like we did when we all lived at home. Mostly we enjoyed just being together, even if we were all sitting around doing nothing!
This was Addison's first year at the cottage and we arrived there on her birthday so we just had to have another little party for her. She was very happy about having another big piece of messy cake!

Noelle's first time tubing, she loves the boat and was thrilled to go for a ride at least once every day!

Noelle fishing with Grandpa, they saw some little ones but no bites, apparently they didn't hear Noelle calling 'Come here fishy!'

Addison found a stray pop can and knew just what to do with it

Happy Birthday Addison!

Yes, my baby is one! The big celebration was actually two weeks ago, but due to vacation and our computer needing a new harddrive, I am just getting to this. We had both sides of the family over and since it was a beautiful day we decided to have the party outdoors. Since my mom always made us homemade birthday cakes (and still does!), I want to carry on that tradition for my kids, so I found this fun 'Bears at the Beach' idea online. Very easy and the kids liked it. :)

Thankfully Addison has a big sister who is happy to help her open her presents. She got lots of fun things ... a water table, toys for the water table, a puzzle, a toy piggy bank, clothes, books, and probably more that I forgot about already!

Noelle has been excited about Baby Addison's birthday for months, she knew that her special job at the party was to help her blow out the candle

Digging in!

Loving it!

She acutally ate the whole thing, other than the crumbs left in her highchair ... the beauty of an outdoor party is carrying the highchair to the grass and simply wiping out all the crumbs onto the ground! :)

We had such a fun time and the birthday girl absolutely enjoyed herself too!
