A Perfect Summer Day

On Tuesday the girls and I had a great day experiencing some fun summer activities while we still have the chance! We headed to the beach in the morning for Addison's two year photo session. When we arrived Addison gave the photographer her very best scowl and stated 'Don't want to'. Eventually though she gave in to the the fun of running in the sand, splashing at the edge of the water and climbing the rocks so we ended up with several frame worthy shots at least. And since it was a gorgeous day I had packed our swimsuits, sand toys and lunch and we just relaxed and played for a few more hours. The girls were having so much fun I hated to pack up and head home but figured it would be wise to get in a little bit of naptime at least.

Matt had to work at the fair that night, so after naps we went out to visit him, play on all the tractors and check out the animals

The girls had some extra special privileges since daddy had the keys to all the big tractors.

More Camping ...

We've enjoyed two more camping trips this month, both long weekends, at TriPonds and Hungry Horse. Both are great campgrounds for kids, with lots of activities to keep them busy. The first trip was our annual church campout, which we have missed the past few years due to other vacation plans and being in labor. :) It was great to be a part of the group again.

A new addition to the campground this summer was the bounce pillow, a hit with kids of all ages.
It was a pretty busy place in the evenings, but on this morning the girls had it all to themselves.

Addison decided she was done swimming and just wanted to relax on the lounge chair, mommy thought that was an excellent idea!

Auntie Karin brought some cupcakes for the girls to decorate ... yummy!!

The fishing pond

A little time around the campfire before bedtime. Our girls usually end up going to bed way too late when we are camping, but that means they sleep late in the morning which is perfect since Matt & I don't usually go to bed early enough either. :)

Our second trip was with our good friends, the Busschers. It felt like the hottest weekend of the summer so far, so thankfully there was an awesome kiddie pool where the kids spent hours splashing around.

Both of my girls are in love with baby Greyson, hoping they are just as infatuated (for a few weeks at least) with their baby brother or sister

Playing playdough, my girls were thrilled with Jackson's big box of playdough toys

Playing at one of the three playgrounds

Fun times!

Two Years Old!

Our little sweetie Addison turned two on Sunday! We've been celebrating for a little more than a week ... by the third party last night she was a pro at blowing out candles and opening presents.

Addison and three of her cousins all have birthdays within a couple weeks of eachother so we celebrated them together with a birthday pool party at Uncle Dave and Auntie Taraynn's house.

She was very excited to have her own 'pishing pole'

Watching Josiah blow out his candles

She has a sweet tooth just like her mommy, there is rarely any dessert left on her plate

We were camping at TriPonds the weekend of her birthday so we went to the grocery store to pick out a cake for Sunday lunch. There wasn't a ton of selection, but she decided on Hello Kitty over Goofy.

Last night we had my family over for pizza and of course presents and cake.

They couldn't wait to see what was in the big box

An easel!

Tried out my giant cupcake pan for the first time, this was a very easy cake to make. (I needed that this week!) Very fun to decorate, can't wait to try some new ideas next time.

She is still my baby, for a little longer at least, doesn't seem possible that she is two already. Addison, we love your happy and silly personality, you just make us smile. Looking forward to watching you grow and learn over the coming year. Love you!!
